Suzanne Gaboury is a senior global institutional investor with more than 30 years of experience stewarding capital across private equity, infrastructure, private credit, climate finance, and financial institutions in emerging and frontier markets. Her career has been defined by disciplined fiduciary oversight, rigorous portfolio construction, and the mobilisation of long-term institutional capital through well-structured, investable platforms.

Ms. Gaboury has held senior executive roles at the Asian Development Bank (ADB), FinDev Canada - where she was Founding Chief Investment Officer—FMO (the Dutch Development Bank), Cordiant Capital Inc., and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Across these institutions, she has overseen large and diversified private markets portfolios representing more than US$70 billion in aggregate exposure, spanning private equity fund commitments, direct investments, co-investment programs, structured credit vehicles, and infrastructure platforms.
Most recently at ADB, as Director General of Private Sector Operations, she directed approximately US$8 billion in annual commitments across Asia and the Pacific. Her mandate included private equity and infrastructure fund investments, structured finance transactions, and the development of co-investment platforms designed to mobilise institutional capital at scale. She worked closely with global pension funds, sovereign institutions, insurance companies, development finance institutions, and commercial investors to structure vehicles that combined strong fiduciary discipline with institutional-grade performance standards and efficient capital deployment.
Ms. Gaboury brings deep expertise in LP-GP alignment, fund governance, risk management, capital mobilisation, and the structuring of institutional private equity and infrastructure platforms. She has been actively engaged in strengthening investment governance practices and market architecture to support the continued maturation of private capital ecosystems.
At Cordiant Capital, a global emerging markets private equity and private credit manager, she operated within a dedicated fund management environment, engaging directly in GP-led capital formation, fund structuring, investor engagement, portfolio oversight, and value creation strategy. This experience provided direct exposure to sponsor economics, performance management, and alignment dynamics from the general partner perspective, complementing her extensive experience as an institutional limited partner.
Throughout her career, Ms. Gaboury has operated extensively in the role of an institutional LPdefining fund strategies, underwriting and selecting private equity and infrastructure managers, negotiating limited partnership agreements, and establishing governance structures that reinforce alignment of interests and prudent downside protection. She has chaired and served on investment and credit committees and developed allocation strategies across asset classes and geographies designed to preserve capital while delivering durable, risk-adjusted returns.
Operating at the intersection of commercial capital markets and public policy, she has demonstrated a consistent ability to manage geopolitical and operational risk while building institutional investment platforms that support long-term economic resilience. A Canadian national, she is committed to advancing best practices in limited partner stewardship, transparency, and institutional capability, and is recognised as a trusted Board-level advisor and effective leader in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
Ms. Gaboury holds an MBA in Finance and has completed executive education at Harvard Business School and The Fletcher School at Tufts University.
